Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.0 Pricing

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.0 which is the successor of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is expected to be a hot selling tablet, thanks to its price point. Although, this is no official announcement about the price point of this tablet from Samsung, its price got revealed Adorama which is expected to ship Samsung's tablet. It will be sold for 199$ for 8GB model.
Adorama has removed its listing for now!
And we don't see any reason why it won't be sold for that price because most of its specification match with that of the Tab 2.  It will be sold for 199$ for 8GB model with micro-sd expansion available.

PC sales going down!

PC or Personal computers were and are the greatest invention of all times. From time of Charles Babbage to the time of Bill Gates, computer has been the most talked about product. PCs especially desktops were among the best upgrades that we ever saw in the history. From a 1000sq.ft huge 1st generation computer, we have come down to micro-computer which does the same task but effectively. PCs really changed the way we communicated with each other. PC revolutionized technology completely. But things are slowly changing as tablets are taking over PCs itself!
Yes, you heard it right! PC sales is going down rapidly every year as tablets are on the rise. It looks like tablets are more preferred by general people than PCs. By PC, I mean, desktops, laptops and Ultrabooks which mostly run Windows operating system. Tablets are mainly taking over laptops and ultrabooks, ie portable PC's. Though tablets are not as powerful as laptops, people buy it due to its easy touch interface and high resolution screen. For a normal user who opens his/her PC for web browsing, watching YouTube videos and using Facebook, tablets can be a better alternative. However, for a software programmer or a hardcore gamer, tablets are not going to meet their all requirements as PCs are much more powerful in that case.

The thing is a person who owes a PC usually buy tablets because of their portability and good battery life but many tablet users refuse to buy a PC. Even Windows 8 release has not been able to keep the PC sales up. It looks like people are more attracted towards touch screen interface. Most tablets which run on Google Android and iOS are selling like pancakes which PC sales is going down. Few years later, don't be surprised to seen  tablet PCs running full Windows 8 like the Microsoft Surface RT pro. In 2013, expect fall of PC sales like never before. The time has come. PCs are finally going down. Tablets are on the rise!!!

Battery - That seriously needs an Update!

So, you have got a new smartphone? It must really be awesome. A quad-core processor along with 2 GB RAM should really make it a beast. How can we forget about the 1080p Display in your smartphone?  Everything is so fast with the Dual-Band Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connection, isn't it? Smartphones have changed a lot since 2008. In fact everything has changed about smartphones. Or may be I am wrong! Everything expect battery life has been improved.
Doesn't matter which super phone you are carrying, one day or the other, you'll feel frustrated about its battery life. Technology has changed since the day one but the battery life has remained the same. Except for some phones like Motorola Droid Razr Maxxx which has a huge battery, you will need to carry your charger where ever you go! CPU in a  smartphone has been upgraded, RAM has been added and display has been improved but battery is still the same. Especially with HTC mobiles, all you can care about is the battery life of your smartphone which is honestly horrible.

Why has there not been a change in battery technology? Smartphone manufactures too have realized the fact that poor battery performance is the problem of every consumers but there is really nothing they can do. If they put up a big battery in a smartphone, people will find it bulky and normally won't be attracted to it. Battery is a form of energy. Like the CPU, they can't be over compressed and made smaller. What we really need is a smaller battery which can power your device effectively and give huge power backup. There are inventions of small sized battery with larger mAh capacity but they are extremely expensive to be kept in a smartphone. The other problem smartphone manufactures face is that such small batteries dry out over a period of years and are expensive to replace.

So, until a miracle happens, we will have to be happy with what ever kind of battery we have. Battery in our smartphone really needs an update but we are likely not to see that in the near future.

Technology- Way Ahead of Time

There was time when people were more than satisfied with 7 inch black-and-white TV. Sega Mega Drive Genesis was the best gaming console out there. People were happy. They thought they had the best of technology. They thought they had it all. They thought there was no place for progress in this technological world. But no, they were all wrong. Technology bought us things that we had never imagined, things we never dreamed of. We have everything all right but how many of you think that we have things that are more than necessary and things that looks like more for future use than right now? So, I have listed a few of the top gadgets and technologies which are going to be awesome some 10 years later.

Let us start up with 4K TV's. Also known as Ultra HD resolution TV, 4K TV's pack resolution of 3840x2160 which is four times the resolution of Full HD (1920x1080). That is way too high resolution, isn't it? It sounds great on paper, doesn't it? But if you look deeply, these TV's have no use in practical life. How many 4K movies have you watched so far? Yes, none. There are no movies so you can just forget about the TV shows. They are not going to come in 4K resolution any time now. If you are thinking of streaming 4K videos, you may just want to wait a bit more. Our download speed is not fast enough to stream 4K videos. Even Blu-Ray disc can't store 4K movie in a single disc. It is time for Blu-Ray discs and 1080p HD videos, so 4K resolution will have to wait for a while. 4K resolution is way too ahead of time. It is going to be a rock star some 10 years later, possibly. 4K is really way too ahead of time.

We have a lot of example if you know what I mean. How can we forget about the 1080p resolution in a 5" smartphone. It sounds crazy, doesn't it? But, that's exactly what we are getting right now. Mark my words, 2013 will be full of smartphones featuring FHD screens which are capable of playing back 4K resolution. Ask yourself, do you really need 441 ppi in a 5 inch display? Anything above 300+ ppi is just waste of your battery and undoubtedly your processor. How can we foget about the Exynos A15 Octa-Core Processor that Samsung released this year? What can a octa-core processor do in a smartphone when most of us probably have a dual core processor running in our PC? Octa-Core processor really doesn't mean anything as it won't be as powerful as a PC dual-core processor and we won't really use it to its maximum potential.

Technology has been improving a lot at recent times. What people want, they get in a snap! That is the power of technology. Doesn't matter if technology is ahead or behind time, we will still love it! Thank you for reading my post.Stay tuned and stay updated. Will Nokia ever rise again?

Nokia was the best mobile manufacturer ever until now. Things are slowly changing for Nokia as its competitors are growing strong with their Android operating system. Nokia is having a hard time coming back. Nokia who is working with Microsoft Windows and Symbian OS are really not being able to catch up with Android which has a large application library.
Windows 8 phone especially Nokia Lumia 920 has been very successful but not as successful as Samsung Galaxy S3 or the iPhone 5 or HTC One X. People don't want to migrate to Nokia as neither Symbian or the Windows phone have as many features as Android or iOS. Nokia's  Asha series is really doing well in the low-end segment. But that isn't enough for Nokia to get back up. Windows Phone seems to be Nokia's last hope.

If Windows Phone 8 fails, then what? Will Nokia go do just as Blackberry did? No, Nokia won't go down by any means. Nokia is planning to build Android smartphone if Windows Phone doesn't work well. That will sort everything out. There's no doubt that people will come back running to Nokia if it adopts Android as its operating system. Nokia is trying its best to take the lead like the old times and looks like it is succeeding slowly. Lumia phones have been a great help to Nokia to get its share back. No doubt, Symbian is slowly dying.
Talking about Nokia rising up, there is no doubt about it. Nokia will rise up and stand where it used to be years back. If Nokia takes up Android, there's no doubt, it will be the No.1 smartphone maker as well as No.1 smartphone seller. Even if Nokia doesn't take up Android, it will catch up as Windows Phone is improving greatly in the recent times. Nokia will be back to wow you all. It's just a matter of time....

iOS - The Good and The Bad

iOS is a premium OS which has the biggest application and game store which runs on only Apple devices. The iOS OS runs everything very smoothly. Everything is fast and easy in this OS. All you need to do is open the application you want to use and you are done. It is a power efficient and non-resource hungry OS. One thing good about iOS is you get almost the the new features via firmware (software ) update. iOS is well known for its security, easy user-interface and great variety of applications. The OS is itself top notch and well polished. You will be getting few updates including stability patches and many other bug fixes as soon as Apple finds it. It has well integration of famous apps such as Facebook, Viber, Skype and many more. Although, you are only limited to your app tray, you also get pull-down notification bar for easy access of your notifications. You get security features to protect your device by using pass-code. Find my iPhone application lets you remotely track your device and even lets you remotely erase all your data. Almost all the applications and games are optimized to run on iOS devices.

However, there are a lot of drawbacks of using iOS. There are a lot of features missing in iOS. iOS sure is secure. But, you will have things you'll need to sacrifice for the sake of security. One major disadvantage is that you will be iTunes dependent to transfer all your music, photos, games and Videos. Also, you are not logged into your Apple account, you can sync your device from only one computer. Further, you won't be able to transfer any of your data from your iOS device via Bluetooth  Doesn't matter if it has Bluetooth 2.1+EDR or Bluetooth 4.0, FTP will be disabled. Customization is next to zero in iOS device where users are forced to use theme which is already set by default. Also, there is no homescreen and no widgets. The drop-down notification bar shows only few things and doesn't let to toggle through settings. These are few of the iOS drawbacks that you will need to know.

So, you now know the good and the bad about iOS. You can surely chose whether you want an iOS device or not. If you are a professional person who's going to use such device for work, you will be more than pleased to get it. If you are a teenager like me, you may want to check out Android OS as well. Android is skyrocketing right now. It too has many cool features that you'll seriously love.

Windows 8 - Should you upgrade?

Windows 8 is here folks! It's the latest and the greatest operating system (OS) from Microsoft. It has wowed many of us and for few it is not a major upgrade. Windows 8 sure has a lot of new features. Some of them are:
  • Support for both x86 PCs and ARM tablets
  • Touch-centric, Tiles-based User Interface (UI)
  • Snap Multi-tasking
  • Much easier Windows 8 Control Panel
  • Web Navigation by Touch
  • Two Touch Keyboards
  • Enhanced Copy Experience
  • Native USB 3.0 Support
  • Better Support for Multiple Monitors
  • Better Graphics Hardware Acceleration
  • Metro UI
  • Microsoft Account Integration
  • Fast Boot Time
  • SkyDrive Integration
  • New Task Manager
  • Improved Malware Protection
Seems like a lot has changed and in fact it has! But it doesn't mean you will notice all the changes. If you are a tech savy, you will surely see a lot of changes but if you are just a basic user, you won't like the new interface at least for a month or so.
Upgrading to Windows 8 is suitable for those people who are upgrading their PC itself (with TouchScreen featured Monitors). Windows 8 is optimized for touch screen monitors. If you want to make the most out of your Windows 7 make sure you have got a touch screen Monitor. Also, you will need a active Internet connection all the time to use its premium features. Although the minimum requirement of Windows 8 is same as that of Windows 7, you may want to have a high spec PC to enjoy all the features of Windows 8.
If you have a old Windows 8 PC which has low specs and uses a non-touchscreen PC, then trust me, you won't enjoy much of Windows 8. The touchscreen optimization itself will trouble you. It will look funny to use your mouse as a finger input to swipe through different Windows panel. Windows 8  uses a lot of gestures and touch options which will surely trouble you. It's certainly not going to be worth spending 100's of dollar for just upgrading to Windows 8.
So, that's it for now. Stay tuned and stay updated. You can also catch me on Facebook. Just click this "Facebook" word to be redirected to my page. Thanks for reading my post.

Should you get Nexus 7 or should you wait?

Well, its been almost a year since the launch of the Nexus 7 and it is still selling like hot pancakes. 100's of 7 inch tablets have been launch after Nexus 7 but none have been able to take over the Nexus 7. It may sound cheesy but Nexus 7 is still the best 7 inch tablet we have around us. Well, but it's 2013 and it sure is a new year for rise of tablets and mind you tablets sales are increasing rapidly. You may even see a Nexus 7 II this year and who knows what else! So, do you think it is going to to be wise enough to  get your Nexus 7 at this time of the year? Let's find out.
Nexus 7 may be a 2012 device and may seem old to many of you but actually it does everything perfectly just as you would want a perfect 7 inch tablet to do. The specs are still high end with 1 GB of RAM and 1.2GHz nVidia Tegra 3 Quad-Core Processor. Yes, I know nVidia Tegra 4 has just been released but don't expect to be seen in a budget tablet like Nexus 7 any time now. Some of you may think that this is going to be a bad time to purchase Nexus 7 but to be honest you won't find any better time to get such premium product in such less price. Nexus 7 II is going to cost a lot more than Nexus 7 as it will feature a back facing camera and a better processor. Just like the Nexus 7, even the Nexus 7 II will have a higher price at the beginning and will ultimately reduce the price at the end of the year to maintain the sales.

You buy a gadget today then be sure it's going to be outdated tomorrow. That's one fact you will need to face. No matter how good and premium product you buy it is going to die one day. Just thinking that if you start waiting, trust me, you will wait all your life. Go for Nexus 7 and you won't regret. However, if you are planning to get a 7 inch tablets months after today, you might really want to wait. But, if you are planning to get it today or tomorrow, just don't wait and get it right away. It is worth the price. You will simply love your Nexus 7!

How to boost Windows 8 performance

Have you just updated to Windows 8? Had you expected your new OS to be smooth and fast just as Windows 7? Yes, the Windows 8 is now what you had expected. With the new OS and the new UI, there are a lot of bugs and disappointments. The Metro UI may be breath-taking but it is also very demanding. Though the system requirements of Windows 8 as just like what was found in Windows 7, your system may not handle all the threads and processes your new OS performs.
The first reason Windows 8 doesn't run properly in your computer is the lack of system requirements. If you have got some bucks, do invest it in upgrading your PC. Go and buy a new PC which has a touchscreen to make the best out of your Windows 8 operating system. Windows 8 is a lot of fun when you have a touch-screen desktop or laptop.
If you think you meet all the requirement to run Windows 8 without lags, there are things you need to consider. Windows 8 is a completely new platform so you can expect it to have some lags which will of course be removed by Windows update itself. If that is the case all you can do is wait for the update to roll in. Do frequently check for system updates. Make sure Automatic update is turned on your Windows 8. Also, you can check the Microsoft website and download updates manually if you find specific problem in your new OS.
There are several bugs that are reported by users running Windows 8 but many of them were found due to users own lack of skills. so, make sure you have installed or updated to Windows 8 properly without any errors. Also, you experience a lot of unusual problems, you can simply install a fresh copy of Windows 8 in your computer. Make sure your disc is not corrupt and your hard-disk is virus free as even Windows 8 is prone to viruses. Just like in earlier version of Windows, remove unnecessary files and uninstall unrequired applications from your computer.
The next thing you can do is download and use free registry cleaner such as RegCleaner which may look simple but does it work pretty well. You can download it here for free. One more more, there may be some applications which is causing problems in your computer. For instance, there are many applications which are not compatible with Windows 8. They may be causing the slow downs of your computer. If you have seen a recent slow down, just uninstall the program you have just installed and check for the program update which is made for Windows 8.
If you follow the above listed guidelines, you will have Windows 8 running smooth in your PC.Thank you for reading my post.Stay tuned and stay updated. Do send comments and suggestions down below. You can also catch me on my Facebook page.

NTC launches WiMax Service in Nepal

NTC has released WiMax Service in Nepal where the users can enjoy high speed Internet from their home as well as their offices. This is a good service for those  who don't have NTC telephone line in Nepal. The new WiMax service doesn't need NTC line in your home in order to use this service. This technology can be useful for people of villages where there is no access of telephone lines.
Currently, NTC is installing WiMax towers in Kathmandu as its initial project. Once the installation is done, NTC plans to continue this project and provide this facility to people of Pokhara. Once the installation is complete, you can enjoy your fast broadband Internet without any hassle . No wires, no cables. All you need is a Wi-Max installed adaptor which is pre-installed in many of the laptops. However, you will need to make sure that you are in near the range of tower which is providing the WiMax service. At present  WiMAX service is available in Kathmandu (around 5km-10km from our Data Center). You can test the signal strength first before you apply. The setup and activation of this service is very easy.

WiMax technology may seem unreliable to many of you but it is in fact as reliable as your ADSL connection. NTC has stated this project to make sure that there is stable Internet throught the 75 districts of the country.
For fellow readers who want to use this technology, do wait for a bit to be notified on how well WiMax technology works. Bookmark this page for further information about WiMax introduced by NTC.

Nexus 7 Vs SmartQ X7

SmartQ X7 is a 7 inch tablet which looks like a big brother of Nexus 7 which comes in 249$ for 16GB model but has much more to offer. In fact, SmartQ X7 has everything that you wish Nexus 7 had. That includes Rear Facing Camera, Micro-SD Card Slot and Mini- HDMI out port. That's not all, this device also has in-built FM transmitter that Nexus 7 doesn't have. Here are the key features of the all new SmartQ X7:
  • 7" IPS Screen with 800X1280 resolution
  • 16GB inbuilt storage with Micro-SD card slot
  • Built-In FM Transmitter
  • 2MP rear camera
  • 2MP Front facing Camera
  • 2GB RAM
  • 4,200 mAh battery
  • HDMI out port
  • Android 4.1 out of the box
  • Dual Core TI OMAP44701.5GHz processor
  • 10-point capacitive touch screen
  • Bluetooth 3.0+EDR
  • GPS
The specs sound pretty good, doesn't it? But how does it really stand in front of Nexus 7 who has won everyone's heart. Packing all these goodies, SmartQ X7 costs 50$ more than Nexus 7 and it costs around 20$ more including shipping. The specs sound good on paper but we really don't know if this device is as fluid as Nexus 7 and how durable this device really is. Also, be aware that this device doesn't get direct software support from Google as Nexus 7 does. We don't know how is the customer support is either. Nexus 7 already runs Android 4.2 JellyBean.

Also, upon close look, we have come to find out that SmartQ X7 doesn't have NFC which is found in the Nexus 7. Lack of NFC can be deciding factor for many of us on whether to buy which of these two tablets. For now, I would recommend you to stick to Nexus 7 as we all know everything about it and it has all you need. Remember that Nexus 7 is made by Asus and has got brilliant build quality. So, for now Nexus 7 is a clear winner. If you are thinking of buying a 7" tablet, you should obviously go for Nexus 7.

HTC Droid DNA : Retina Display Killer

HTC Droid DNA is the latest flagship of HTC. This is the first worldwide phone to have a 1080p resolution screen in a 5 inch screen. Having such high resolution, the texts look extremely clear with no pixel separation  The HTC Droid DNA has ultra high pixel density of 442ppi. iPhone 5's retina display is nothing in front of this beast.
Other then its super high resolution screen, everything is just as you can expect in a high-end Android smartphone it has a 8-MP rear facing camera and a 2.1 M front facing camera both capable of shooting 1080p HD videos. It has got a quad-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and Adrena 320 GPU. Just to make multi-tasking better, the beast is packed with 2GB of RAM. The only section where you will be dissatisfied with Droid DNA is storage option. This beast comes with only 16 GB of internal storage where only 11 GB is user available. That's not the main problem. The main problem is that it doesn't any sport any kind of storage expansion slots( Micro-SD). That's very disappointing, isn't it? What's more? There is no removable battery. This device has a 2020 mAh Battery which looks decent for this beast. We can expect 1 day full usage with a charge. Hopefully, the Super LCD 3 doesn't consume much of the battery.I don't know what is wrong with HTC but they seem to make one or the other mistake with each and every smartphone they manufacture.
HTC Droid DNA comes with Sense 4+ UI which is really impressive. This device comes with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box and future update Android 4.2 on the way. This device can be charged wirelessly like the Nokia Lumia 920 and some other smartphones which is pretty cool feature to have.Looking design wise, HTC Droid DNA looks absolutely beautiful. The bezels are much less and the screen is mind-blowing. The performance of this beast is very impressive as well. The benchmarks revealed that it outperforms most of the high-end Android available right now. This is a Verizon exclusive phone. You can expect a similar international version to be released soon.
